I only have a few weeks/months until my wedding, can you help me find my dress?
Of course! We stock many sample gowns which can all be taken away on the day. So even if you only have a few weeks, do not panic as you can take your dream dress away with you!
What is a sample dress?
A sample dress is just one that has been tried on in the boutique. It is an ‘off the peg’ dress that we only have one of. Once it’s gone it’s gone.
Do you only stock sample dresses?
No, we stock Bridal designers, Sweetheart by Justin Alexander, Allure Bridal, White One by the Pronovias family, Freda Bennet, and true curves which can be ordered in brand new for you, or many available to buy off the peg and take away that day. So if you have at least 4 months until your wedding, we can order you a new one, depending which designer you have chosen. We will go through this with you at your appointment.
What sizes are your samples in-store?
We currently stock dresses ranging from size 8 – 16. These can be altered by one of our recommended seamstresses and can usually go up/down by up to 2 sizes. As our sample collection constantly varies, the sizes that we stock will vary over time. Bridal sizes tend to be on the small side so don’t be put off if you have to go up a size.
What prices are your dresses?
Our new ordered dresses are all under £1500 and sale dresses start from £599.
Do I have to have an appointment to try dresses on?
We recommend booking an appointment just so we can ensure that you have a fully private experience and that we have a fitting room available for you. We like to give you our full undivided attention and if we have another customer in, we are unable to provide this. However, please feel free to pop in if you are in the area and would like a good browse! If we have a fitting room free then you can try on, no problem.
Do you have a private fitting room?
Yes, we have a whole floor upstairs for the bridal appointments and we only do one at a time.
How many people can I bring with me?
Our fitting room can seat up to 3 guests.
What underwear do I need to wear?
We recommend nude seam-free knickers and a nude strapless bra where possible. This just gives you a better feel for what your dress will look like. Don’t worry if not, most of the dresses are structured enough to go bra-less. Please do wear knickers though!
How many dresses will I get to try on and how long will my appointment be?
We usually advise you to select 3 or 4 dresses which you’d like to try, and then throughout the appointment we will get a feel of what you are/not liking and we can pull some more out for you! Sometimes the ones we pull out are not what you’d go for but are often the ones brides go for! Have faith in us.
Your appointment will last for around 1 hour 30 mins
How do I pay for the dress?
With a sample gown, we require payment in full and we require you to take your gown away with you. With a dress that we are ordering in for you, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to order it, and then when it comes into store, your remaining 50% will be due. This will be approximately 12 weeks before your wedding day.
What happens with my fittings?
We have 3 recommended seamstresses who we use, and we will give you their details when you purchase your dress. You can then book in with them and take your dress to them, at a time convenient to you. The seamstresses are freelance and will require you to pay them once the alterations have been completed. We can give you a rough estimate at your appointment.
We advise you to have your first fitting 6 weeks before your wedding. Your subsequent fittings will then be booked after your first one. Your final fitting could be in the week leading up to your wedding, depending what you are having done. Do not panic, this is to ensure you get a perfect fit as many brides tend to lose weight leading up to the big day.
